Natural Remedies to Relax Your Muscles Health Tips

Our muscles can become sore at times especially when we work out too much. You’ve probably felt some involuntary spasms in your muscles too from time to time. The pain can be mild to severe to the point that you can barely move at all. The spasms that we feel can occur in our arms, quads, calves, lower back, or even our hamstrings for that matter. Although having patience with your muscle soreness is okay, getting rid of it is much better.
Fortunately, there are ways to make the soreness disappear and even help your muscles relax even. And the best part is that these remedies are quite safe to use too. Here are a few that you can try out.

Epsom salt
For muscle spasms and cramps, it would be a good idea to take an Epsom salt bath to increase your magnesium levels. If you’re having frequent muscle spasms or cramps, it may be a sign that you’re suffering from magnesium deficiency. Epsom salt contains high amounts of magnesium where, when you soak in water with this salt, it can be easily absorbed by the skin. Just add 2 cups of Epsom Salt in lukewarm bath to help get rid of the toxins in your system. Soak in the tub for 20 minutes then wash off.

Tart cherry juice
Drinking tart cherry juice is another solution to help get rid of the muscle cramps that you are suffering from. This beverage is packing plenty of anthocyanins which can reduce muscle aches and pains while alleviating spasms. One study shows that runners who had tart cherry juice a week before they go on a run experienced less pain after their run. It is believed that the anti-inflammatories that are found in the drink can speed up the recovery phase.

Rosemary
Another solution to help with your inflamed muscles is rosemary. This herb is commonly used in the Mediterranean diet and has been found to boost blood circulation so that your recovery will get better. Rosemary has been found to have analgesic as well as anti-inflammatory properties that can provide relief with muscle pain as well as arthritis. Just add a teaspoon of dried rosemary to a cup of hot water and allow it to steep for ten minutes. Strain afterwards then drink the solution three times in a day to help reduce the muscle aches and spasms that you are feeling.

Pressure Point Massage
Many people believe pressure points in various parts of the body can be “released” to help relax and give relief to things like headaches, muscle tension, and even stress and anxiety. This video has some you can try. Watch another relaxation video by Dr. Jo here:
